New company offers strategic- and medical concepts for Swiss hospitals
March 2016 – The shareholders of Munich Medical International GmbH Frank Christ, Rolf Engel and Andreas Walter (who is currently still head of the master planning for the University Hospital Bern), have founded the company MMI Schweiz AG in Zurich, Switzerland.
With the foundation of the new company the shareholders are reacting to the current structural changes to the Swiss hospital landscape: fundamental changes in the financing regulations are forcing the hospitals to plan more profit orientated. As most of the largest hospitals in Switzerland were built in the 1970s, structural and constructional changes are required. In this situation MMI Schweiz AG provides orientation for the hospitals on data based planning an develops fundamental strategic- and medical concepts, which form the basis for planning.
MMI Schweiz AG draws on the know-how of MMI Munich Medical International GmbH (Munich, Germany), which has already conducted some large projects in Switzerland (i.e. Inselspital Bern). With the foundation of the new company in Zurich, MMI´s experts can serve the Swiss market more directly and effectively.
The head office of MMI Schweiz AG is located at Bahnhofstrasse 37 in Zurich. The first large project of the new company is to plan the new Kantonsspital Baden, a CHF 450 Mio. project which will be executed together with the architects Nickl & Partner.
