University of Halle awards “Ehrenmedaille” to MMI CEO Prof. Frank Christ

August 2014 – as part of a Teaching Award ceremony at Martin Luther University of Halle/Germany, Prof. Frank Christ, CEO of MMI, was awarded the Medal of Honor for “Special merits in the development of the medical faculty”.

Prof. Michael Gekle, the Dean of the faculty, appreciated the commitment of Frank Christ for the curriculum reform at the Medical Faculty in Halle. Prof. Christ developed the concept of the reform and conducted with am LMU Team several innovative “Teach the Teacher” programs for the faculty since 2010. The training programs have been supported by an experienced faculty group from LMU Munich University (Prof. Dr. Genzel-Boroviczény, PD Dr. Angstwurm, Dr. Kowalski, Anja Görlitz and Peter Christ).

The new concept (case based teaching and problem based learning in small groups instead of lectures) was originally developed in 1996 with Harvard Medical International and the Medical Faculty of LMU Munich University. Prof. Christ was one of the leaders who implemented these new medical teaching methods at Munich University.

Until now Prof. Christ conducted more than 60 faculty development programs for Medical Faculties in Germany and abroad.
